They were hard. I didn't have a cutter so I had to make a cardboard peice and cut around each color. took 4 ever!!

Thanks everyone. The "L" is gumpaste. I just rolled out a long rope and then curled it into an "L" and stuck a wire in the bottom of it.

Absolutely FABULOUS cake! Would you please explain the gumpaste? Just gumpaste or is it a mix of fondant and gumpaste? Also, how did you get the beautiful gold color. My experience with the luster dust this far is mixing it with a few drops of vodka and then paint it on. I never get that vibrant gold that you have. It's beautiful. Could you please share your experience with that? Thank you!
