I made this cake for my 15 year wedding anniversary. This is my family, my son the football player, my daughter the cheerleader, my husband the software engineer and myself the cake maker....This was my first time making characters in fondant.

My husband just came and looked at your cake and said she could get a job with Duff Goldman at Ace of Cakes!! (Yes, I have him watching Ace of Cakes with me!!)

This is truly amazing! What kind of Fondant did you use? Did you use the Wilton stuff, the MMF, or did you make your own? It is so flawless! No cracks at all! Also, how did you do the eyes?
sugarfancy 10/1/06 at 6:27pm
Thank you all so much. Luraleigh, tell your husband thank you for the nice compliment, Duff is the man. Meagan, I made my own MMF, for the eyes I cut a circle of white with tip # 5 and then colored the black part with a non toxic marker.

You did an excellent job! Did you view the tutorial on how to make figures (actually I think it is heads only) by aine2? Her cakes are amazing, and at first I thought this was one of hers! You should be very proud! ;-D

Thank you. Gakali, I wish I would had seen that tutorial, it would have made life more easier. I smashed a few heads because i didn't like how they turned out. I am a huge fan of Aine2's work, she's truly an amazing artist.
