This was my first attempt at sugared fruit. The cake is red Velvet and the frosting is whipped cream. (by the way, make sure your RED caked is sealed before you put icing on it...unless you want it a tie-dyed pink...i found out the hard way after having to scrape off this icing and re-do it :) )

How did you do the sugared fruit?
The strawberries I had to not wash, but wipe very good with a sligthly damp towel. I then coated them with egg white with a paintbrush, and rolled them in the sugar. The grapes I washed and polished, and theb brushed on egg white and dipped in sugar.
