#32 gauge floral wire bent to the shape of a wing, so you have two pieces of wire at bottom, twist these tightly. 2 t. Knox gelatin sprinkle over 1/4 c. water, let set 5 min. put cup with gelatin into a pan of simmering water, heat and stir till clear. Dip wing shaped wire into gelatin, pull over the side of the glass cup rim. Lay on acetate paper to dry, dip again if it seems too thin. Dry again and leave clear or paint with Luster dust thinned with Everclear. Dry and attach to gumpaste Fairy.
Everclear is a grain alcohol you can buy at liquor stores in California. Not sure about other states. It dries quickly because it has a high alcohol content. The reason I say to drag the wing against the cup edge or rim when removing from gel is because if you lift directly from the middle the gelatin breaks as soon as the air hits it.
