Lambeth Style Cake Dummy
Made for a demo. This is a styrofoam cake dummy on a bevel, iced and decorated in royal icing with gumpaste Violets. Lambeth is a style of cake decorating by Joseph Lambeth of England in the 1930s. Layer upon layer of piping on top of the previous one.
Your cakes are really awesome!!! I love the Lambeth style but have never tried it. GORGEOUS AGAIN!
very well done
This is one method I have still to try! I've been reading about it!
very pretty!
Thank you. It's rather outdated by today's style but interesting to see and time consuming to do.
Thank you
wow!
Thank you
Fantastic, so elegant looking, love the top ruffle border.
This is one of my favorite cakes. Wish I would have won it.
Fairytale are you a member of CCSAS or Fremont Frosters? I wondered because we raffled it off at cake club demo. Oh, now I've got it, it's Jan.
Thank you
Stunning! Just STUNNING!
Thank you
What was once outdated is new again. Definately a style worth revisiting. Very impressive!
Thank you
Looks beautiful, but one must get a sugar rush eating all that icing!
Thanks. I suppose you would but my understanding is that in England they used fruit cake covered in rolled marzipan and then chipped off all the royal icing before cutting and serving.
Lovely cake & so much wonderful skilled details!!
Thank you very much
saw your post on Lambeth...gorgeous cake!!!...love this style..really shows off your skills!!!
Thank you. Edith Gates was a great teacher, I took her Lambeth class in 1964
Another amazing design; perfectly executed. The bevel really creates an artistic statement!
