OK, I have to say, this is the best cake I've made thus far (despite all the errors I know are there!). MMF base with the wilton black fondant (since I knew I was not going to be able to make black black fondant). Cards are edible images on MMF. Poker chips are fondant as well (the only thing I could find to impress the middles was a tip cover, so they all say Wilton backwards on them too!). Oh, and this is based on the design in one of the wilton yearbooks.
Totally amazing cake! Fantastic job! :D
Wow! Very nice. Neat work too. I always find it hard to stay this neat with fondant. :)
This is awesome, every detail about the cake is fabulous! You should be very proud :judge:
Thanks. I was actually surpised how fast I was able to put this together too. It's by no means "perfect", but it sure is a lot closer. I can't wait for my husband to get back from his camp out w/my son so he can see his cake! :)
otstanding!!! How did you get the edible images on the cards? i'm kinda new to this stuff & want to make something like this for a very good friend who is gettign married in December. PLease email me details to [email protected]. Thanks
The cards are edible images printed on frosting sheets then placed on MMF. In hindsight, I'd do the cards 50/50 fondant/gumpaste so they'd set up faster (they bled a bit) and so I could make them thinner.
Beautiful cake! Great job! :)
I think you did a great job. I was going to attempt this cake myself and decided it looked like too much work for me...lol
There is a decent amt of pre-work (making the cards, making the chips) but honestly, it was a LOT less work than I had even anticipated it to be. I put the entire cake together (frosted. rolled out and applied all the fondant) in about 4 hours.
