A Boy And His Elephant
It's been months since I've made a cake - can't really seem to find any enthusiasm but I sort of got the bug today when I modelled this little fellow - I borrowed from Aine2 whose cakes I just love! The cake is covered in MMF and the rest is Wilton fondant - I HATE this MMF and won't do it again because I get SO angry when it doesn't work properly - and cakedecorating should be fun shouldn't it!
very cute
Oooooohhhh! He looks like you had fun with him. That is adorable!
Wonderful! I love all your cakes. So what do you usually use besides MMF? (Yep, should be fun. :-) )
well I just use the wilton as it's all I can get my hand on here in Calgary ... it tastes foul though but I still rather it looks fantastic and taste crap than the other way around :) I have been using the MMF receipe from this site but it's so darn dry when I do it - it doesn't look nice when it's so dry!
How very sweet ! love it!
i thought it was one of aine2's cakes at first! brillaint job!
You know, I never use as much sugar as what the MMF recipe calls for. I wonder if you cut back on the sugar that would help. (But I have a feeling the texture of the Wilton is probably still easier to work with.) You obviously got a handle on your problem as your cake looks fantastic as always. You have a gift there with sculpting.
