In community album: Baby Shower
I made this for a friends baby shower. I found the directions at Michaels.com entitled "Naturally Curly". I deviated from the directions some. My cake is two layers with buttercreat instead of fondant. I did use fondant for the eyes, nose, ears and feet. I also used a 10" pan for the head instead of the 9" the directions called for. I think it turned out pretty cute.

This is so cute! The buttercream looks great! I have never used fondant- so this is good to see that it works! I might have to make this for a shower next month!

My friend saw this and I have to make this weekend. Hope it is easy, new at cake decorating. Did you use cake or fondant for arms?
jackieb 10/11/06 at 8:53am
For the arms on this cake I used the oval pan from Course II then cut it in half leaving the curve at each end. I then used the 8" round pan as a pattern and cut the curve so it fit up next to the body. The arms were 1 layer, the rest of the cake 2 layers.
