Out Side Of The Lines...
This towering cake design was chocolate and white layers with alternating fillings of fudge, strawberry and butter cream. Fondant draping runs vertically for a change of pace with gum paste flowers of lilies, roses, stephanotis. violets and small daisies adorning the top. Fondant/gum paste ribbons in light pink loop down the sides with gold wedding bands attached. Edible pearls and small daisies float down the sides. I absolutely loved doing this cake. Flowers chosen were off of the shower invitation.
It sure is pretty!! Great work!!!!
Very Pretty! I love it.
very unsual !! nicely done :)
That is a different look, but you've done a wonderful job of it!!! Just curious, how did they cut it?
Same as a regularly stacked cake, each tier was on it's own plate, so when you cut down into the top tier you would feel the plate, stop and take a sharp knife and follow the plate holding the knife on it's side to release the fondant. The fondant is quite thin which is the way most people prefer it. I just love this cake but it is not for everybody I'm sure. Thanks for your comments.
LOVELY CAKE!
Very pretty! Nice job!
I love this cake..it is so different!!!!!!
Very nice. Did you have to trim the cakes at all or is the fondant just draped over it and gave this appearance?
No trimming is necessary when you graduate from 5" to 10" (one layer) This was so fabulous in person, I placed the gold bands on three of the ribbons so that you would have a better chance to see two bands at once while being viewed 360 degrees....
i think this is great. i love the originality.
Thanks! I will be doing a couple more here soon that are just a bit different
Very beautiful cake and unique and that's why I love it so much!
i love that this is so different that what we usually see with tiered cakes. so beautiful!
