Golf-Themed Groom's Cake

Golf-Themed Groom's Cake on Cake Central

I created this cake for a friend's wedding. The script (in black) imitates the Titleist golf ball logo but says "Timsdabest" ... because the groom's name was Tim.

I like the realistic look of your ball. I have to do one for my cousin who's getting married in a few months. Is this covered in fondant? How did you get the dimples in the ball, and was the sports ball pan used? :D :D

Thanks. I did use the sports ball pan, and I was really nervous about how it would turn out. But after covering the whole thing with buttercream, I draped it in fondant and then made the dimples with the butt-end of a wooden lemon reamer before the fondant got too dry. If you don't have a lemon reamer, you could use the backside of a melon baller or measuring spoon. Hope it goes well for you!
