Strawberry Shortcake Princess Theme
This is the cake I did for my daughter's 2nd birthday. We had a Strawberry Shortcake Princess party and nearly every aspect of this cake was inspired from the invitation. 10, 8 and 6 inch layers covered in MMF. Tiara is a plastic tiara and ribbon is real ribbon. Garland swags, strawberries and pearls all MMF with the exception of the pearls on the middle layer that were purchased edible pearls. Swirls on top layer are royal icing. A lot of planning and work, but I was SO happy with this cake....
This is just unbelievable!! What a work of art! Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!
Great Job! I know your daughter loved it!
BEAUTIFUL! The colors are amazing, I had Strawberry Shortcake as a kid, I would have LOVED this cake!( I still would!)

My goodness how many people did you have at a birthday for a 2 year old? It's a beautiful cake! I love the whole idea! Great job!!
There were only about 35 people or so invited....maybe 25 or so were here. We're still eating cake! I made it as small as I could and still get all the details I wanted in it! Thanks for all the nice comments!
Very well done. Beautiful.

My sister does excellent work...go sissy go....woot woot!!!!hahah love ya Ape
Amazing cake! And a wonderful party, too.
WOW!! I just did a Princess Strawberry Shortcake for my 4 year old and it looked NOTHING like this. Yours is simply gorgeous and now I wish I saw this first.
If you don't mind, I would like to use some ideas from this cake for my daughter's cake! How did you get the pink swirls (top layer) to look shiny?
The pink swirls on top were done with royal icing on a sheet of wax paper. While still attached to the wax paper, I painted with super pearl luster dust, let that dry, then removed from the wax paper (yes, quite a few broke). Then I applied them to the fondant with a little royal. Hope this helps. And no, I don't mind if you use some of the ideas. Have fun and let me know if there's anything I can help you with!
A question for you! How did you get the swags to stay on the cake? how are they held up? Thanks!
Just a little water on the back of the swags!
Berry Berry Beautiful!! :princess:
Very eyecatching - how big is the cake going to be when she turns 21?????
