Double Baby Shower

Double Baby Shower on Cake Central

Two teachers at my son's preschool were due. One had her baby the morning of "shower day"! We saved her a piece of cake and her "baby". This is my first time (successfully) making and using MMF. I got the idea from one of my Wilton books, and changed a few things to make it my own. Chocolate 10", 2 layer, with oreo cookies and bc filling.

The scallops are just a circle cut in half. I drew a 1/2" grid on paper, laid the circle on wax paper over the grid, and embossed with the edge of a ruler. on the blankets, i used a plastic embossing sheet i got at the craft store. it is used to emboss light metals and clay. the little dots around the scallops and on the diamonds are just BC with tip 2. The cake I modeled it after is in the Wilton tiered cakes book. Called "Teddy's ready to play".

MMF is marshmallow fondant. You can find the recipe on this site. I made the buttons by using a small round cutter on the fondant. I found a tool in the garage with a flat end handle, wrapped it in plastic (sanitary measures, of course) and just impressed the circles. Used a toothpick to "drill the holes" in the buttons.
