In album: belly
The title tells you how I feel. I've done belly cakes before, but this will go in my disaster file. The color scheme sounded good. But that's 'bout it. The cake was chocolate. Iced in buttercream. Blue and dark brown trim. Pastels are the way to go for sure. I did another one the same day and it turned out great. It was off white and pale pink.

I agree!! I think it beautiful. Brown & pale blue are "in" colors right now. Your roses are perfect! Are they buttercream? And how to you make them look so good?

Personally I've liked this color combination since it came out in the 70's. Breaking away from what is normal is not a bad thing. Young women of today love this combination of color's. On a decorator level, I love the effect you gave to your roses, and the way the chocolate reverse shell looks against the light blue background.

I like your cake. The colors are great -- I think you should take is out of your failure file!!!

No way! I love it. The colors are very "in" and look so great together! It really pops and is very pretty to look at. Not the same old boring baby blue! :)

What did you use for the belly?
meomy 10/23/06 at 2:32pm
I used the 3-D egg pan, well, half of it!

Hi, meomy. I rather LOVE the color scheme here! It has a great vintage look to it. Sort of Victorian. Great job on the decorations and you got the maternity dress just right :D Nice work!

I think it really looks elegant! Love the little "brads" on bottom and the way you cut the hem of the dress as well as the tiny ribbon attached at the waist! The flowers look great on the corner. I think the colors are really beautiful! You could do the same but go pastel for a girl!!
