Flower Festive Cake

Flower Festive Cake on Cake Central

This is a practice cake for my niece's wedding--she wants a more festive type of cake, colorful and happy (my first wedding, so I have to practice a lot to be ready). I love how it turned out! I have had trouble getting my IMBC smooth, so I used the upsidedown smoothing technique, and I loved the results. It is chocolate butter cake with chocolate fillin, and white butter cake with raspberry filling. The flowers are MMF.

I like how the flowers compliment each cake. The colors are really nice and I like how you placed the different types of flowers. Really nice!!!

What a fun wedding cake--definitely colorful and happy! I love the color combination. What brand/colors did you use?

Thanks for all the wonderful comments. I have learned so much from CC, and look forward to using more knowledge I have gained from this site. I use Americolor, which I purchased here on CC, camcat. For the watermelon color, I used equal amounts of red and pink, and for the lime green, I used a combination of yellow and mint green, a bit more yellow than the green.

Thanks for the nice comments! I wanted to mention my "inspiration" for this cake came from a black and white plaid cake (do a search for it) on CC. It is a stunning cake--I've never seen anything quite like it. I changed the colors, of course, and made it solid colors. Fun!

The colors are fantastic. The pattern and floral look like a mexican motif from the 70's...I Love It!!! Fabulous wedding cake...people will talk about it forever!
