2006 Family Reunion

2006 Family Reunion on Cake Central

This was done for my husband's family reunion. It was copeid from the 2007 Wilton yearbook with some variation. I put grass on under the tree and cookies in the grass which represent those family members who have died. They're cookies who fell from the tree. In front of the tree sats two rocking chairs with cookies in them which represent my husband's mamaw and papaw. I can't wait for the family to see this cake. I really think they're gonna love it.

I think it is just wonderful and you touched my heart when you said about putting the cookies on the ground what a lovely idea.

Thank you all so very much for the kind comments. Reading your comments makes me all the more anxious to see my husband's family's reactions. I'm sure it will make me cry to see how they react. OH I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Thank you all for the wonderful comments. They truly were amazed. I wish you all could have seen them looking for their face with their name on it. They gathered up their's and took them home! One uncle quickly grabbed up the 2 rocking chairs which represented his parents and took them home to save. I think that was my greatest blessing of all in doing this cake. That showed me how much it meant to them. If only everyone could be touched as much everyday!

Ellie! I really love this cake, as a matter of fact, I was thinking about making one for this weekend for my family. My grandmother is having a celebration for all of the June b-days. I don't know if this is really appropriate, though...what do you think? Yours came out wonderfully!!! I do love it and I bet they did too!

Thanks Courtney, I think it would be great, they all really go crazy over it and save "their" cookie. The good thing for you is you wouldn't have to do near as many cookies....LOL. Don't forget those who passed on, they are the ones "fallen from the tree". That meant even more to the family that they were remembered.
