Sage Green With Two-Tone Roses
The "ribbon" roses were a new challenge for me. I wanted the cake to look like it had ribbon embroidery. I was also playing with two-toned roses. The leaves are golden hosta (miniature of course). I love making these leaves. Although my fondant covering wasn't perfect (bad fondant) I still won first place in Maryland and more recently Best of Show at the state fair. Not bad for a play cake. :)
