In album: hot-pink
I know this doesn't look like a cake for a bridal shower, but the bride specifically requested a yellow cake with chocolate icing.

This is the first cake I ever really "decorated" so I used icing out of the can. The flowers are fondant and cut with varius sized cookie cutters. It matched her shower invitations which were light pink with hot pink, orange, and yellow daisies on them.

I'm not sure I like the look of the canned frosting (too glossy for my liking) but I do like the flowers. What did the bride to be think?

debsuewoo: She is my best friend so of course she liked it! I don't like the look of the canned frosting either (I agree it's too glossy), but I didn't know any better at the time.

I think you did a great job. Ecspecially for you first cake. I would have never attempted that for my first one. It's great. Love the flowers! It looks so yummy!
