Happy Birthday Nurse!

Happy Birthday Nurse! on Cake Central

Another design created onto cake card and attached to the cake with royal icing. I think this will be the LAST tea party cake I put on here. You must be sick of looking at teapots by now! Oh....all handmade from modelling paste and shine achieved using confectioner glaze. Teapot dusted with lustre powder and glazed, makes it look like varnish. Nice effect.

Oh I looooove this!!!! I want to try my hand at this little people. How long did it take? And like mkerton, I will NEVER get tired of looking at these. Just gorgeous and so CUTE!!!

You're all far too kind (she said blushing!!) This character would probably take a good 3 to 4 hours if I added all the working time to be honest, maybe more. The body without arms was left to dry because of the position I wanted her to be in. Then the head was made and secured and left to dry too. (drying time is overnight) The hair was then done and the arms secured in position. The hand on the face was supported at the elbow with sponge until dry again. So it is time consuming.

I love all your work, so I'm never tired of looking at any of them either!! Do you make confectioner's glaze?? If so, how?

on

I don't make the glaze. I buy it online from Squires Kitchen but I'm sure you'll be able to find it somewhere that doesn't need to ship it. It's simply called Confectioner Glaze.
