I made this for my Mom's 75th birthday. The cake is orange with a vanilla mousse & mandarin orange filling. Homemade fondant covers each tier. The roses are also fondant except at the very top; those are bc. The heart is made of light and dark pink inlaid fondant.
PS: The celebration was fantastic and the cake was a success!

So pretty!! Are the flowers that are on top of the 2nd cake fondant also? As always with your cakes, this one is going in my favorites!

The roses on the very top are buttercream in 3 shades of pink. I loaded the bag with 3 colors of pink and just twisted the 103 tip to different shades to get the outer edges of the petals different shades. The ones mounted at the points of the stringwork are fondant. These are the ones they now teach you how to do in the new Wilton Course 3.

Thank you for all your kind words. I am fortunate to have gotten some of my mother's artistic abilities. She is an artist and I have been blessed with a little of her skill.
