Yes. It was all cake. Four square cakes for the central cake and 6 round cakes for each tower. And a couple of cup cakes for the central tower with a skewer through them to help stabilize it.

I actually did not use a cutter. I printed the letters in the "times" font on my computer. Put a pc of wax paper over it. Outlined in white royal icing (fairly thick) then filled in with thinned royal icing (purple). They popped off the wax paper when they were totally dry.
