My first go at making fondant roses, I think they look more like cabbages..... never mind. This is a fruit cake (soaked in brandy).

i think your roses look beautiful, you've really got a good handle on the medium, you've made the petals really thin which is important and lots of ppl struggle with.

Okay, compromise and call them 'Cabbage Roses'. I love them! They have a wonderful natural look to them and a beautiful color.

Oh wow, I was thinking your roses looked a little different, but I LOVE them! I think they actually look more real. I havent tried to make any yet, but I want to. did you use the cutters??

beautiful looking cake and roses.

Thanks, no no cutters used, just made the 'core' of the rose and then flattened small balls in a plastic bag (into petal shape) and then wrapped them aroung the core. Hope that made sense? Thanks for the kind comments though!
