is it just wire? did you insert it into something then in the cake? i can't ever figure out how to do that.
I inserted the wire into a flower pick filled with gumpaste after wrapping the wire around a bottle to give it shape.

If I remember I think the majority was with a size 7 and the 50th was a size 12.

Lovely cake! My arms hurt just thinking aobut rolling out that large a piece of fondant. It was certainly worth the effort though. Beautiful job!
