Circles & Stripes

Circles & Stripes on Cake Central

This was for my girl's combined birthday party - they are now 9 & 4. We wanted to try something different so after going through pictures on cc and many books - this is what we came up with. This one was hard to cut, we all really loved it. I drew a lot of inspiration from Collette. It's all mmf and painted. The spirals are wires with color flow dots, gumpaste bows and roses. Lots of fun to do. Thanks for looking

Thank you all for the cake ego boost! cakesbyjess - I got them round just by carving a double layer cake, just kept trimming till it looked right.

Thanks. Yes, they were carved from round cakes. It is a 9", 6" and 4". It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I cut the cake board down 2 or 3 inches smaller than the cake and used it as a guide on how far in to cut. I then flipped the cake over and did the same thing on the top.
