I made this birthday cake for my golden Maverick for his 3rd birthday, LOL! It is white chocolate with white chocolate buttercream. It was based on the dog cakes I've seen on this site.
For the body, I used the stand up lamb pan. I baked an extra 8x8" square pan and carved the 4 legs, tail and snout and then attached them. The nose and eyes are out of fondant.
I cut the snout piece of cake to fit snug around the small nose that was there from the lamb pan and then attached it with 2 toothpicks and some brown buttercream. I then attached the fondant nose with one more toothpick and some buttercream. This was my second attempt at this cake. The first one I used a regular cake mix for the parts I cut out, it just crumbled doing the snout. This time I used the 3-D cake recipe on here. It held up much much better, I didn't have any problems with it.
