Each tier is only 2" rather than 4" to keep the cake smaller (there's only 3 of us to eat it.) The covering is tinted Wilton lemon yellow. For the roses, I made orange fondant and yellow fondant, then took about a 1/4 piece of orange for each 3/4 piece of yellow and lightly kneaded them together, and then rolled it out. I was trying for a two-toned effect on the roses which doesn't show up well in the photo, but looks quite nice in real life.
