My Birthday Cake
Ok-ya'll...here it is!!! I love sea turtles and we have just gotten back from a beach vacation so what better idea than something beachy! I was inspired by maplecakes sea turtle cake. This one was sculpted from two 1/4 sheet cakes and 2 small oval cakes. A mixture of crushed graham crackers and brown sugar for the sand.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! I love your turtle!!! Now you have to teach me to make one at our DOS!!! You are an amazing artist!!
Mac...I love this turtle...looks so real. How did you icing him, making the spots? Great job!!!
wow! So very realistic. Super job!
Wow! That's a pretty cool turtle! Love it!
beautiful!
what a pretty cake. wow!!
Used a small spatula and iced legs, head and under-edge of shell. With bags, piped ivory frosting lines with smooth side of basketweave tip. Then filled in with the chocolate/dk. green frosting using a tip 10. Smoothed with papertowel. Spots on the legs and head were put on after smoothing the ivory icing, once crusted, I flattened with papertowel.
