My Little Pony Castle Cake

My Little Pony Castle Cake on Cake Central

My granddaughter wanted a My Little Pony cake for her birthday. I reseached and found three things about My LIttle Pony. Rainbows, castles and of course ponies. This is the result. I couldn't have done it without help from Michelle here at CC. It took me 5 days to make the cake and it took the kids about 30 seconds to dismantle it. The towers have lights in them...although you can't see it out in the daylight.

The cake is just boxed french vanilla, buttercream icing, fondant decorations. The pink fondant is the Jello variety, which was really tasty, easy to make and easy to work with. The towers are pastillage which I formed over pvc pipe and let dry. The turrets are icecream cones covered in fondant. The rainbow accents are fruit leather candy I bought at a local candy store. Water is piping gel colored blue.

Wonderful! If it didn't have the ponies on it, it could be a wedding cake!!! Great detailing! 8O

I found the lights at Walmart in the wedding section. They come in a pack of 12 I think and each light just twists on. I set one in the bottom of each tower on a piece of wax paper and turned them on as I set the towers in place. The package says they last 8 hours. Don't know if they do or not...the party was not that long.
