I made this cake for my daughter's Cheetah Girl 2 premier party. The top 2 layers are yellow cake with chocolate chips and the bottom 2 are dummies. I made the cheetahs out of rolled buttercream and the plaque & music notes are fondant with royal icing.
I love the plaque at the top. How did you do it? I was asked to do a Cheetah Girls cake and I love your design. What color is used for the rope borders? I think the cheetah are a little advanced for me...but I am going to try and copy the other parts. Any help would be appreciated!!
I tinted the fondant a light ivory, and did the plaque out of fondant and gum paste. I then went over it with royal icing colored a "gold" color. I panted the spots on with a coloring pen. The rope was done with a buttercream tinted gold alternated with a black. I mighted of added a little brown to the gold to get it a little darker. As far as the cheetahs, it was my first time making them, I used the book sold on this website to help. They were a lot of fun making. PM if you need more help.
Thanks, I'm just seeing your reply now. I will probably pm you closer to the due date of the cake - it's due Nov 4th. I am going to try my hand at the plaque. I've never done one before, so that's what I need instructions on. I really like it. My cake is going to be buttercream with fondant accents. I'm not brave enough to try fondant all over the cake. Thanks again!
