Cherny's Cake
My friend asked me to make a cake as it is her cat's birthday (I kid you not!). I just got several of Debbie Brown's books and really wanted to try a design out, so I chose this one! I think the wool would have been better in the original fondant, but my friend loves buttercream. Cherny (for it is the birthday cat himself that graces this version!), is made from sugarpaste with a bit of CMC added for stability, I lustre dusted his ears, nose & cheeks in pink just to do something a bit different.
Cake itself is Devil's food cake and decoration is orange buttercream.

Very cute! I was thinking about baking cake for my cat the other day, but just couldn't get motivated to do it! No, he gets nothing more than a crumb when I've done it in the past. But since he just turned 14....maybe this weekend. I think I'll do something along the lines of this. It's so cute!
