In album: gift-box
The cakes are wrapped in white chocolate plastic and the ribbons and flowers are marshmallow fondant. This cake is so heavy. I always make too much. :)

Edited to add: I welcome any constructive criticism. Really!

I love how you folded the corners! What is white chocolate plastic?

Oooooo, very pretty! I really like that color blue! ( or is it gray?...it looks like a steel blue on my computer)...very nice cake!

Chocolate plastic is 16 oz. melted chocolate mixed with 1/2 cup corn syrup, kneaded after it sits overnight. quite a pain to work with but I wanted to try it out. :) It's supposed to be blue but I messed up the color a bit. :)

I love the color. Would never know that you didn't intend it to be that way! I agree with shortNsweet that it looks like steel blue on my computer. How did you get it that way?

Did you dye the chocolate plastic blue to get that color? And, did you use dk. chocolate? or white?
jsmith 9/9/06 at 6:13pm
I used delphinium blue for the color and I used white chocolate, which is actually yellow so that was a pain.

what do you use to make shiny work, is it Petal Dust, Shimmer Dust, or Luster Dust? Gorgeous cake!!!
jsmith 9/18/06 at 11:50am
Thanks. I used super pearl dust. Not sure if it was petal or lustre dust.

I love the way you "wrap" your gifts.

This is so pretty! I love the placement of the ribbons and bows.

I love the way you "wrapped" the gifts in the fondant. This is the first time I have seen this and it makes a more authentic look. What a wonderful job. The color is awesome. ;-D I know this is a couple of years old. But really a fantastic job and color. The choc you used, was it candy melts or Bakers choc?
