Baby Shower Gift Box Cake

I made this cake for a friend's baby shower. The lid is fondant covered styrofoam, but I couldn't figue out for the life of me how to get the lid to stand up like other CCers have done with cakes with lids. If anyone out there knows, please clue me in:)

Nice job. I used dowel rods to keep my lid open.

I used dowel rods too, and stick a marshmellow on the exposed end , then arrange the tissue paper and contents around it. I love how your cake turned out...it is just tooooo cute!

Thanks for all the compliments and the tips for the open box, I will definitely try the dowels if I do it again. The blanket was pretty easy, because I used a mold that I got from countrykitchensa.com
