C3Po Star Wars Rice Paper

C3Po Star Wars Rice Paper on Cake Central

I was given the idea to use trace the image on Rice Paper and then fill in with frosting. I was told that since Rice Paper is so thin that after it was on the cake, it would disintegrate and you would be left with the image. I was also told that rice paper was tasteless. This was my first and only attempt but I can see how it might work but I think the rice paper has to be damp first. The rice paper never even softened for me. I had much better luck with Darth Vader Buttercream Transfer

Thanks you guys! You make me feel much better about this project. I found the rice paper at an asian supply store or maybe it was King Sales- they have everything. It was $2 for a bunch, make sure to get it so it is really thin. It is an okay technique but I think it takes practice. Also, i think next time I do this I will purchase the food coloring markers to do the tracing rather than trace with gel.
