Made this for my friend at work (a bunch of us turning 50 this year). She requested chocolate, so made a chocolate Kahlua cake (from cake mix doctor book), added Kahlua instead of milk to chocolate buttercream icing, and used white candy melts for the letters and dark & white chocolate melts to do the design on top and the 50. Attached toothpicks to the numbers so they would stand up. After finishing, realized I should have "combed" the sides of the cake with some sort of design. What do you think?
