Heart-Shaped Pillow Of Flowers

Heart-Shaped Pillow Of Flowers on Cake Central

This is my all time favorite piece. It was made with white chocolate gumpaste for a chocoloate festival several years ago. It was shown on The Food Network's Top 5 when they first started showing different competitions around the country.

I nearly came unwound when a JUDGE decided to touch them to see if they were real. Thankfully, someone who knew me stopped him and let him know that I had made them and they were chocolate.

oh my goss I thought for sure they were real flowers, Even now as I look at the pic I'm still not sure I 'm convinced they are chocolate (j/k). Great work, you are truly a cake artist.Beautiful

WOW !!! this is awesome. I just looked at your photos after you posted that your flowers are your "signature". I'll say !!!! Beautiful work. How long have you been decorating? I just started cakes and haven't even made any flowers yet !!! Does it take alot of practice??

I've been decorating for 11 years. God gave me the ability to make flowers. Finding the right gumpaste for yourself is one of the hardest parts. Yes, they do take a lot of practice, but I am obsessive-compulsive about my work. :) Gumpaste is a whole new medium, such as oil painting takes different tools and techniques than water color.

gorgeous........did you make the baby's breath too?? Man, I wish my roses looked like that........I have to figure out that ball tool huh??

The baby's breath is made by dipping white head stamens into gum glue and then into non-pareilles (sp?). Do each side, let them dry, and then fold in half with 3 or 4 other sets, secure with a fine wire and floral tape.
