Flower Basket
This was made for my sister-in-law's birthday. THe lid is made with a cake board and frosted in buttercream. You can't see it in the picture, but the lid has basketweave on the top. The flowers are all royal icing. I had to put flowers on the lid to cover up my mistake on the rope border. Also, I didn't notice until the picture was on the computer how much my fingerprints on the underside of the lid show. You can't see them as well on the cake itself.
It's beautiful. That one red rose looks awesome. Don't point out your mistakes. We wouldn't have noticed them. What's the post holding the lid up?
Thank you. It's a straw holding the lid up. I have a toothpick anchored in the back through the lid to hold it in place. I really hope it holds up! I've never done anything like this before.
