Princess Cake
Practice Cake - just wanted to try a couple things. 1st time making a royal icing crown and also 1st attempt at using stencils and royal icing for designs on the side (bottom tier). Cake is covered in MMF and I used an impression mat on the top tier. Also my 1st time using impression mat on fondant (have only used it 1 other time and that was on BC). Definitely need more practice but, overall I was pretty happy with how this turned out.
WOW! You did a terrific job! It is an incredibly beautiful cake.
I think you did a great job!
I can't beleive this was your 1st time with royal icing, that crown is amazing! You must be a natural
thank you everyone - yrn2lrn: for the crown: I taped a pattern to a 6" cake pan and then covered that with waxed paper. Then, using royal icing I piped the crown (using a #2 tip) onto the wax paper. After it dried, I repeated it 3-4x's to add strength and detail to the crown. After it was done, I painted it with a pink luster dust. silyoldpoohbear - it's not my 1st time with RI, only with making a crown, sorry if I was confusing.
it isfantastic
