So So cute! I'm looking forward to seeing the final cake. These look great! :)
holy cow!! incredible...how long did that take you?
Incredible! Dare we ask how many hours you put into this cake?
8O I have NO idea of how much time it took! Honestly...I worked for a couple of days off and on..well, maybe a week. The little figures took the most time...and then I painted some of them when they were on the cake. BUT, if you count how long it's gonna take to get everything in my kitchen/dining room clean...whoooeeee! Next time I'll try to make note of my time. Although that might be depressing if I were going to sell something like this! It's a good thing I love to do it!
Absolutely incredible cake. It's a story telling cake...fabulous work. Loads of effort but I'll bet you feel good seeing it now!

awesome, how did you get the stump look
great job

Outstanding, fantastic, original!!!!! Big thumps up!!!! :D
that snail is just the cutest!
That is just incredible. And so are the others in your photos! You are so creative!
Oh my! What a lovely cake! You are just so talented.
I used brown fondant for the stump and then thinned brown gel paste w/vodka and used a large brush and just kept brushing layers of brown on each other. It ended up looking like this! The circle layers seen on top were made with the wood graining tool (in my photos). I used the little teeth part and spun the cake with the teeth on it. Once that dried...I applied a light coat of the brown paint! Hope this makes sense!! :)
Shari, I saw your cake tonight at the fair, it is awesome! The best one there...I was in awe
