Retirement

I made this for an Air Force retirement celebration. Buttercream with fresh strawberrys in middle. MMF accents. It's hard to tell how big this cake is in the picture but it can feed at least 100 people.

So cute! I just saw the lawnmower close up before. Your details are stunning! Love the mowed areas, cobblestones and coiled hose. And those fabulous shingles! Is the house a cake too?

Thanks so much for the nice comments :) I get the wood grain by mixing two different shades of brown fondant with white. The house is a cake from a wilton house pan. I put two dowels in the main cake to hold it up. This was fun to make but lots of work. It took me all day to do it. I'm glad it's finally finished!:)

This cake is fantastic, would you mind if I had a go at making it? as I thought it would be good as a welcome to your new home cake too :)

I was looking for cakes made in the stand-up house pan and came across this one...I just LOVE it! Beautifully done. I can almost transport myself to this little house....
