i used the wilton gumpaste flower kit to make these. it comes with all the cutters and a full color step by step book. the one thing i did differently is i hung the flower upside down to let them dry. when i put them in the foam my petals tended to fall down so i curled the wire into a hook and hung it upside down. i'd pick it up every once in awhile to readjust the petal and then rehung it. thanks for everyone's comments. i just love this site! it inspires me everyday!

another thing i suggest is getting a set of non toxic artist pastel chalk. you can buy a large set with a whole bunch of colors for about 6 dollars. these cost way less than the petal dust and you get the same effect.

I tried roses using the Wilton gumpaste flower cutter set too, but they didn't look anything like this! These are just gorgeous.

These are great - dumb ? when I make mine (not successfully) I get like a huge ball at the but end - is that supposed to happen. I would love to see the bottom of the flower to see what I am doing wrong

Wow, this is beautiful. From Wilton, huh? I have the set but I just haven't had a chance to try it out or even buy floral wire. Great job!

gorgeous! LOVE the color! If you use chalk though, can you still eat them? it's still safe to put those on a cake?

thanks everyone for all your wonderful comments. it really does mean alot to me. i was a little leary of trying my hand at the gumpaste flowers. i tend to look at ALOT of pictures here before i try to make my own flowers. i just hope the other flowers i try will come out this good. thanks again for everyone's feedback. it really does make a difference when people appreciate what you do.
