In community album: Father's Day
Everything is handmade and edible.  The hardest part of this cake was making the royal icing bird cage.  It took forever to get the parchment paper to mold to the right shape and then draw in the cage with icing!  The birds are made of MMF and then painted with food coloring to look like feathers.  The roses, frosting, and other decorations are buttercream!

Father's Day Father and Son Birdcage Cake!

    Hey, that's a great cake. I have an idea for you. Maybe it will be easier next time if you piped the cage on an inflated baloon and when it sets you can just let the air out.
