My First Chocolate Fondant Cake

This cake I made for my Parent's Birthday party on Saturday. This is the first time I ever worked with Chocolate Fondant. My first attempt at Ribbon Roses too so that is why they aren't perfect. Kind of look like they are throwing up don't they! This fondant was to die for! I ate so much of the stuff! Can someone tell me why cakes always look so much nicer in person than they do in a picture?

I agree with the cakes looking better in "real life" than pictures. But I have no idea what you're talking about with your roses, they are perfect!! Also, the first thing that came to mind when I saw this cake was droooool!! I want a slice so badly!! :wink:

LOL maryak! You know the chocolate fondant tasted like tootsie rolls. I bought a pound of it and ate just about a pound of it! Had to buy some more of the stuff to do that cake. Unreal. That reminds me I still have some in the cupboard downstairs! :cry:

I've got the urge to try out some chocolate fondant. Love this cake and now I have to know what kind of fondant you bought as I may have to "borrow" your creation. :lol:

Aw, now see...you've already done a cake as good as the baby's bum cake (thx for the nice comment :wink: )I feel like my cakes look better in pics than in person, I guess because by the time I'm looking at the picture I'm done scrutinizing myself and the cake! Love this cake! I bet it was delish!!!
