My First Wedding Cake!

My First Wedding Cake! on Cake Central

With a love of cake making, how could I get married and not make my own cake? After much research on a concept and no luck, I stumbled upon a piece of my favourite fabric that this cake was based on! It was fantastic with layers of strawberry buttercream mousse between vanilla cake, and a tier of butter pecan.

Bottom is 14" - didn't need a huge cake for our wedding and we still had tons leftover!

This is absolutely beautiful!! And I love your ribbon ... did you find it before or after you picked your design? And is the topper a flower or a "ball" of wire ... I hate to make it sound juvenile ... it is really cool, I just can't quite make it out. LOVELY!

Thanks! The topper is a wire flower cluster I made with silver glass beads. The ribbon I actually found after I designed the cake! It was a pure fluke! Lucky, I know! :)
