Barbell Cake
8" round sourcream pound cake for the 2 larger 'weights", 6" round chocolate sourcream pound cake for the smaller weights. I also had 5" round pound cakes for 2 more weights that didn't fit on the board. My client LOVED this cake. I was rather proud since this is my very first 3D-type cake !!
See the small tubes on the inside of the cake ? that's what's holding this up. I also used pound cake cause it's denser . Spoke to the giver this morning and the cake held up beautifully--they moved it twice after getting it from me with NO problems
Oh, the bar is the Wilton plastic cake dowels--2 taped together end to end and covered in MMF
