Strawberry Shortcake
This was for my niece. All she could tell me was it needed to be Strawberry Shortcake! So, I found a book that had a beach themed Strawberry Shortcake and went with that since we had the birthday party outside in the sweltering heat!! This was my first time sponging a cake. My palm trees started falling off in the 1-hour drive to my mom's house. So, I made my husband stop and buy some toothpicks at the nearest gas station to hold them up! Worked fairly well, except for messing up the border.
I have never seen this technique used! It is absolutely beautiful!!
my little girl loves this cake, as do I!!! It is so neatly done.
I really love this!! You did a great job on those transfers!!
Hey Pal, you did a terrific job; she is so cute and I love how you decorated the cake.
So CUTE!!! Do you prefer CT's over BCT's? She looks perfect.
oh I love this cake!! very unique design, great job!!
That is very cute. Strawberry shortcake is that a chocolate trasfer?
All decorations are royal icing. I love chocolate transfers as well!
This is so cute! I love it!
She's FABULOUS! I want a cake like that! :)
i use the royal icing xfers all the time but mine always gfall apart how did you get them to stay together
I let them dry and then cover them with a nice thick coat on the backside of the picture and let that dry completely, then add the lollipop stick (if needed) and let that dry. The extra layers give it more strength.
