Quinceanera Girl
this quinceanera cake that I did Saturday her colors were black and and white and silver we were going to charge $600.00 she only could pay $400.00, I was kind upset because she first came to me and said she didnt want to spend $500 or more ok so she came with the girl who was haveing the quinceanera, she like a cake that a have in my cake profile and I ask her how much she wanted to spend she said what ever it takes ok so I told her $600.00 she said that was fine so I decide to buy all the stuff that I needed to buy, well a week before I had to do the cake she said she couldnt spend $600.00 well then I told her then I was going to cut the cake ser. down she first wanted for 400 people, so I made the cake for 225 ser. she first wanted to give me $300.00, and I told that I couldnt so I decided $400, even through I should of chatge more but I didnt the person that was buying the cake was my newphew mother her niece. I dont know do you think $400.00 was cheap. I use a 14 and 10 and 8 pans

Well Gloria 2005 girl that was regalado spanish for VERY CHEP that cake I would charge 650 or more that was REGALADO. Don't you hate people that do that sor of thing. bUT YOU CAKE IS GORGEOUS. NICE JOB

It is a beautiful cake and yea it was way to cheap. But what people don't realize is how long it actually takes us to make these cakes. So it is for our time to.
Those people really got a deal in my opinion. People think that they order a cake and poof it looks like this. They don't think 1st you have to go hunt down the ribbons and material and anything else that you need for the decorations. Then the FULL day it takes to bake all of these cakes, then the full day + that it takes you to decorate it and the day that you have to set aside to deliver and set it up. Thats 4 FULL days that you have there. So some people might not think it was worth 600. but we sure...
That lady got one heck of a deal! It's a GORGEOUS cake!!
You did a beautiful job!! I'm not good with pricing, but that was a lot of work for 400.00
sorry for your heartaches, but this cake and decoration looks very professional, I would have made her pay me first and then tell me how she wants to do her cake.. and 400 is nothing compare to what they would have charged at the bakeries.. family or not, they should at least consider on timing you prepared and made this cakes.. you did a beautiful job, well done..

The way I learned about charging for a cake is I charge by the slice. This way you don't get cheated out of your work. I charge between $1.75 to $2.00 a slice depending on how much work goes onto the cake and the flowers. A slice should be between 2ins in and 1" 1/2 thick however I slice 1" inch think. My customers have asked me to cut the cake I also charge for that. If you want to know more about the prices and what I charge for like delivery, cutting the cake.
