Father's Day Fish

Father's Day Fish on Cake Central

I had so much fun doing this one that I had to share it! Cake is covered in buttercream, then fondant. I hand-painted it with lustre dust and color, then with edible glitter. Lettuce and lemon slices are all fondant and piping gel.

This would be great for my husband's birthday... can you share how you did it? What type of cake shape did you start with? How did you texturize the fish and lettuce?

I started with a football pan, covered the cake in fondant and made the tail from fondant. I made the scales with the wide end of a large piping tip. The lettuce was done with aluminum foil. Thanks! It was so fun to do!

This is fantastic! I hope to be able to do something half as good as this some day. I haven't ventured into sculpted 3D cakes yet!
