Keystone With Can
This is the can of beer I had to buy to make this cake. I used the actual can to trace the logo. Note to self, wait for beer to come to room temperature before tracing. Then my scanner wouldn't work for me to enlarge what I had traced, so I just used it as is. Consequently, the proportions are a bit off. All buttercream, hand painted. Buttercream piping. Lots of work. I wish it weren't crooked on the board. And the frosting could have been a bit smoother. Oh well, next time!
WOW! That is cool! I'm going to have to try this technique! Thanks for sharing your success.
I love it! What size cake(s) did you use?
I'm impressed that you did this on buttercream! Great job!
I used 4 6" layers and put a board between two, dowelled, stacked the other two on top, and put a dowel through the center. Thanks for the comments.
This is awesome...in buttercream...just awesome
i think it turned out great too! id be very happy to recieve a cake like that, well done.
This is fabulous!
wow great job! Just how many people did this end up feeding? It looks huge!
It is 4 6" rounds, so I would figure about 14. But this was for a group of guys, so more like 5.
Can I ask how you hand painted the buttercream? I would really appreciate any tips because I have to do a similar cake. Thank you!
I used luster dust mixed with lemon extract and a largish paintbrush. I waited until it had crusted well and then used a very light touch. Hope this helps.
Looks GREAT! You sound so much like me! I am so critical of my work but EVERYONE else loves it. But this looks awesome. :)
