I didn't have time to explain how I did this when I loaded it Made about 250 feathers w/ the rose leaf cutter, used toothpick to give definition. Alll flowers and leaves are sugar paste. The head and neck are rice crispy treats covered with fondant. Cake was airbrushed. Rope border is fondant painted with bronze luster dust. bird, feathers, and flowers are all painted w/ luster dust. Tail feathers are real. Steamed them and wrapped ends with foil then suck into cake.

This is absolutely gorgeous!!! I can't even imagine how long it took you to do this not to mention the patience to make that many feathers. It is truly beautiful.

thank you, it did take a long time. If I never see another feather, I'll be quite happy. I got a phone call last night from the person who ordered this, no one would dare cut it he said. I felt kind of bad because he paid a pretty penny for it, but flattered mostly.

I trust me, I wasn't laughin' when I was doing it and the whole tail fell off. I can laugh now ( I had to re-do it) It was a lot of work, so glad you guys know a lot of work when you see it. :lol:
