I made this cake using buttercream icing and fondant. This is the first homemade cake I have made, and also my first layered cake. It was also my first experience using fondant, which was surprisingly easy and fun to work with. For a cake full of 'firsts' I was really thrilled with the result. My daughter loved it, and that's all that mattered to me!!!
