Although you can't see it... the cake itself is colored. I tinted the batter with food coloring... red and green. The cake called for fondant gingerbread men, but I thought that was crazy. Gingerbread men are made of gingerbread cookies... so I made the cookies. BIG HIT of my husband's school's Christmas party.
